Camp David is a classic hybrid tea rose, highly prized for its large, velvety, dark crimson-red blooms. The flowers are beautifully formed, with a high centred shape, and they exude a powerful, sweet, and classic rose fragrance. This makes it an ideal choice for bouquets and floral arrangements, as the blooms are held on long, strong stems.
This rose has a vigorous and upright growth habit, typically reaching a height of 1-1.5 meters and a width of about 0.6-1 meter. It is a repeat bloomer, providing a reliable display of magnificent flowers from late spring through to autumn. Its dark green, healthy foliage provides a striking backdrop for the deep red blooms.
For best results, plant Camp David in a sunny location that receives at least 6–8 hours of direct sunlight a day. The soil should be fertile and well-drained. Water deeply and regularly, especially during dry spells, and avoid wetting the leaves to prevent fungal diseases. Feed the plant with a balanced rose fertiliser in early spring and again after the first flush of blooms. Prune in late winter to remove old wood and shape the bush, which encourages strong new growth and a profusion of flowers.
