Spathiphyllum ‘Picasso’ is a rare and highly sought-after variegated cultivar of the Peace Lily, celebrated for its unique and artistic foliage. Unlike the streaked pattern of ‘Domino’, ‘Picasso’ exhibits broad, irregular splashes or sectors of pure white and deep green on its large, glossy leaves. Each leaf is distinct, often looking like it has been randomly painted, giving the plant a bold, modern, and high-contrast appearance. It grows into a dense, handsome clump and produces the characteristic white, spoon-shaped flowers. Its stunning foliage makes it a true collector’s item and an excellent architectural feature plant for a bright indoor space.

Light: Requires bright, indirect light to sustain the energy needed for its high level of white variegation. Too little light will cause the plant to revert to a greener state. Protect it from direct sun, which will severely scorch the white sections of the leaves.

Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but never soggy. This plant is sensitive to drying out, which will cause leaf tips to brown. Watering when the plant visibly droops is an easy method. Use filtered or rainwater if possible, as it is highly sensitive to the chemicals in tap water, which can damage the delicate variegated areas.

Humidity: Essential for this plant. Maintain high humidity by placing it in a bathroom, grouping it with other plants, or using a humidifier. Low humidity will quickly lead to crispy brown leaf edges.

Fertilising: Feed monthly during the active growing season (spring and summer) with a balanced liquid fertiliser.
