Certain plants improve the conditions needed for deep, restorative sleep in measurable ways: by releasing oxygen through the night, stabilising bedroom humidity, and producing scents that directly support melatonin production and reduce the time it takes to fall asleep. Snake Plant and Aloe Vera are among the few plants that perform CAM photosynthesis — continuing to release oxygen and absorb carbon dioxide after dark, when most plants reverse the process. Lavender and Jasmine work through scent: both have been shown in clinical studies to lower heart rate and cortisol levels at night, shortening sleep onset time. Peace Lily contributes by raising room humidity by up to 10%, reducing the dry air conditions that cause disrupted breathing and early waking.
