• Can reach 15-35 meters tall in ideal conditions with a spreading canopy, making it suitable for parks and large properties.
• Highly drought tolerant once established and actually flowers more prolifically during dry periods, making it perfect for water-wise gardens.
• Produces woody seed pods after flowering that split to reveal bright red seeds, adding additional ornamental interest.

• Water young trees weekly during establishment, then reduce to monthly deep watering once mature. Increase watering during extended dry periods if flowering is desired.
• Position in full sun for optimal flowering and growth, though partial shade is tolerated in hotter inland areas.
• Plant in well-draining soil with good organic content, avoiding heavy clay or waterlogged positions that can cause root rot.
• Feed with native plant fertiliser in early spring, avoiding high phosphorus fertilisers which can damage native plants.
