• Distinguished by its striking yellow petioles (leaf stems) that contrast beautifully with deep green arrow-shaped leaves.
• Grows from underground rhizomes and can produce offset plants, making it possible to propagate and share with fellow plant enthusiasts.
• Popular among aroid collectors for its unique colouration and relatively compact size compared to other Alocasia varieties.
• Goes dormant in winter months, often losing leaves before new growth emerges in spring - this is completely normal behaviour.

• Water every 7-10 days in growing season, every 10-14 days in winter when top few centimetres of soil dry out.
• Position in bright, indirect light - morning sun is acceptable but protect from harsh afternoon rays.
• Use well-draining potting mix containing perlite, bark chips, or similar amendments to prevent waterlogging.
• Feed with balanced liquid fertiliser diluted to half strength monthly during spring and summer growing period.
• Trim yellowing or damaged leaves at soil level using clean, sharp scissors to maintain plant health.
• Maintain humidity around 50-60% and temperatures between 18-26°C for optimal growth throughout the year.

• Provide bright, indirect light near east or north-facing windows - direct sun scorches leaves while too little light causes leggy growth.
• Water when top 2-3cm of soil feels dry, thoroughly saturating until water drains from holes. Reduce frequency in winter months.
• Maintain humidity above 50% using pebble trays, humidifiers, or grouping with other plants. Low humidity causes brown leaf edges.
• Keep temperatures between 18-26°C year-round - avoid cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and sudden temperature changes.
• Feed monthly during spring and summer with diluted liquid fertiliser, reducing to every 6-8 weeks in autumn and winter.

• Spider mites thrive in dry conditions - increase humidity and wipe leaves regularly with damp cloth. Severe infestations require horticultural oil spray.
• Root rot occurs from overwatering - ensure drainage holes and allow soil to dry slightly between waterings. Remove affected roots and repot in fresh, well-draining mix.
