Dietes Iridioides

• Native to South Africa, Dietes Iridioides belongs to the iris family and is commonly known as African Iris or Wild Iris. It has naturalised beautifully in Australian gardens.
• Forms attractive clumps of upright, sword-shaped leaves that remain evergreen in frost-free areas. The foliage provides excellent structural interest even when not flowering.
• Produces pristine white flowers with distinctive yellow and purple markings from spring through autumn. Each flower lasts only a day but is quickly replaced by new blooms.
• Extremely drought tolerant once established and requires minimal maintenance. Popular with busy gardeners who want reliable colour without constant attention.
• Attracts bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects, making it valuable for pollinator-friendly gardens.

• Water deeply once or twice weekly during first year, then reduce to monthly watering once established. Increase frequency during extended dry periods.
