Schefflera Arboricola

• Native to Taiwan and southern China, this compact evergreen shrub belongs to the Araliaceae family and is commonly known as the Dwarf Umbrella Tree. It's prized for its manageable size compared to its larger cousin Schefflera actinophylla.
• Features palmate compound leaves with 7-9 glossy leaflets arranged in circular patterns, creating an elegant umbrella-like appearance. New growth emerges bright green, gradually darkening to deep forest green.
• Grows as a multi-stemmed bush that can be trained into a small tree form through selective pruning. Popular as a bonsai subject due to its naturally compact growth habit and attractive branching structure.
• Beloved by indoor gardeners for its tolerance of neglect and ability to bounce back from occasional missed waterings or poor light conditions.

• Water deeply when top 2-3cm of soil feels dry, typically weekly in summer and fortnightly in winter. Empty saucers after 30 minutes to prevent root rot from standing water.
• Provide bright, indirect light for best growth, avoiding direct afternoon sun that can burn leaves. Supplement with grow lights if natural light is insufficient.
