• Native to tropical South America, Aechmea Racinae belongs to the bromeliad family known for their striking architectural form. The plant's scientific name honours botanist Racine who contributed to bromeliad research.
• Features thick, leathery leaves arranged in a perfect rosette that naturally collects rainwater in its central tank. This unique adaptation allows it to survive in nature by creating its own water reservoir.
• Produces spectacular flowering displays with colourful bracts emerging from the centre, typically in shades of pink, red, or orange. The actual flowers are small but the bracts provide months of vibrant colour.
• Popular among collectors for its low-maintenance nature and ability to produce offsets or 'pups' around the base. These can be separated to create new plants, making it excellent value for money.
