Calathea Makoyana (Peacock Plant)

• Native to eastern Brazil's tropical rainforests where it grows as an understory plant in filtered light. Belongs to the prayer plant family Marantaceae known for leaf movement. First discovered in the 19th century by botanist Makoy.
• Features oval leaves with distinctive peacock-like patterns of dark green ovals on pale green backgrounds with burgundy undersides. Leaves can reach 20cm long when mature. The patterns are unique to each leaf creating natural artwork.
