• Features thick, arching evergreen leaves that form attractive clumps and bright orange trumpet-shaped flowers with yellow throats in dense umbels.
• Grows slowly but steadily, forming offset plantlets that create impressive colonies over time when left undisturbed.
• Beloved for reliable flowering, low maintenance requirements, and ability to thrive in low-light conditions where other flowering plants struggle.

• Water weekly during spring and summer, reducing to fortnightly in winter when growth slows. Check soil moisture 2cm down before watering.
• Position in bright, indirect light or morning sun with afternoon shade. Avoid hot, direct sunlight which burns leaves.
• Plant in well-draining potting mix with added perlite or bark chips. Garden soil should be enriched with compost and well-draining.
• Apply balanced liquid fertiliser monthly from September to March, reducing to every 6-8 weeks in cooler months.
• Remove spent flower stalks at base and yellowing leaves to maintain appearance. Minimal pruning required otherwise.

• Scale insects and mealybugs can attack leaves and stems - wipe with rubbing alcohol or apply horticultural oil. Regular inspection helps catch infestations early.
• Root rot occurs from overwatering or poor drainage - reduce watering frequency and ensure pots have drainage holes. Repot in fresh, well-draining soil if roots are mushy.
• Leaf spot diseases appear as brown patches in humid conditions - improve air circulation and avoid watering foliage. Remove affected leaves promptly.
