Convolvulus Cneorum - Silver Bush

• Native to Mediterranean regions, this evergreen shrub has adapted perfectly to Australian conditions. Its botanical name Convolvulus means 'to entwine' though this species forms a neat bush rather than climbing.
• Produces masses of white funnel-shaped flowers from spring to autumn against silvery-grey leaves. The silky foliage reflects heat and light, making it extremely drought tolerant.
• Grows to approximately 60cm high and 90cm wide with a naturally rounded habit. The silver foliage provides year-round interest even when not flowering.
• Popular with garden designers for coastal plantings and water-wise gardens. Attracts butterflies and beneficial insects while deer and rabbits typically avoid it.

• Water deeply once or twice weekly during establishment, then reduce to fortnightly or less once established. Check soil dryness before watering as overwatering kills this plant.
• Position in full sun for best flowering and foliage colour - at least 6 hours direct sunlight daily. Some afternoon shade acceptable in hottest climates.
• Plant in well-draining soil amended with coarse sand if needed - heavy clay soils are unsuitable. Raised beds work well for drainage problems.
• Apply slow-release fertiliser once in early spring using low-phosphorus native plant food. Avoid over-fertilising which causes soft growth.
