Euphorbia Trigona

• Native to Central Africa, this succulent belongs to the large Euphorbia family containing over 2000 species worldwide. Not actually a true cactus despite its appearance.
• Features distinctive three-sided stems with small oval leaves that may drop during dry periods. Can reach 2-3 meters tall indoors with proper care.
• Fast-growing architectural plant highly valued for modern interior design and xeriscaping. Produces small yellowish flowers on mature plants in optimal conditions.
• Contains milky latex sap that has been used traditionally but is toxic if ingested. Popular choice for contemporary Australian homes.

• Water every 2-3 weeks in growing season, monthly in winter - always check soil is bone dry first. Use saucer method to water thoroughly then drain excess.
• Position in bright, indirect light indoors or morning sun outdoors with afternoon shade. Gradually acclimatise to prevent sunburn when moving locations.
• Plant in cactus potting mix with excellent drainage - never use regular potting soil. Add extra perlite or coarse sand if needed.
• Feed with diluted liquid fertiliser monthly during spring and summer growing season. Avoid fertilising in winter when growth slows.
• Prune carefully wearing gloves due to toxic sap - clean cuts heal quickly. Remove any dead or damaged growth promptly.
