Orange Valencia

• Originates from Spain but has been cultivated in Australia since the 1800s, becoming our most popular juice orange variety. Commercial orchards across Australia rely on Valencia for consistent production.
• Produces medium to large, thin-skinned oranges with exceptional juice content and minimal seeds. Fruit can remain on the tree for months without quality loss.
• Develops into a rounded canopy reaching 4-6 metres tall with dense, dark green foliage year-round. Self-pollinating variety requiring no additional citrus trees for fruit production.
• Beloved by Australian families for fresh juice, marmalade making, and cooking applications. The extended harvest season means fresh oranges from one tree for months.

• Water deeply once weekly in summer, monthly in winter, checking soil moisture before watering to prevent root rot. Reduce frequency during cooler months when growth slows.
• Position in full sun location receiving 6-8 hours direct sunlight daily for optimal fruit production. Insufficient light reduces flowering and fruit quality significantly.
• Plant in well-draining, slightly acidic soil with pH 6.0-7.0, enriched with compost and aged manure. Container plants need citrus potting mix with excellent drainage.
• Feed monthly from September to March with citrus-specific fertiliser containing trace elements. Reduce feeding frequency during winter dormancy period.
