Rose Golden Celebration Bush

• Originally bred by David Austin in England, this rose combines old-world charm with modern disease resistance and repeat flowering. It won the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit.
• Produces exceptionally large, cupped flowers with up to 55 petals per bloom in rich golden-yellow tones. The fragrance is intensely sweet with hints of chamomile and tea.
• Grows as a robust shrub reaching 1.2-1.5 metres tall and wide with strong, arching canes. The glossy green foliage provides an excellent backdrop for the magnificent blooms.
• Beloved by gardeners for its reliability, long flowering season, and ability to perform well in Australian conditions from cool temperate to warm subtropical zones.

• Water deeply 2-3 times weekly in growing season, reducing to weekly in winter. Check soil moisture 5cm down before watering.
• Position in full sun location receiving at least 6 hours direct sunlight daily. Protect from strong afternoon sun in very hot climates.
• Plant in well-draining soil mixed with compost and cow manure. Soil pH should be slightly acidic to neutral (6.0-7.0).
• Feed monthly during growing season with rose fertiliser or balanced slow-release fertiliser. Apply Epsom salts quarterly for magnesium.
• Prune in late winter removing dead, diseased and crossing branches. Deadhead spent blooms to encourage repeat flowering.
• Mulch around base with organic matter to retain moisture and regulate soil temperature. Keep mulch away from stem base.

• Provide full sun for at least 6 hours daily for best flowering and disease resistance. Morning sun is particularly important to dry dew from leaves quickly.
• Water deeply 2-3 times per week rather than frequent shallow watering. Allow soil to dry slightly between waterings, especially in winter months.
• Plant in well-draining soil enriched with compost and aged manure. Mulch around the base to retain moisture and suppress weeds.
• Prune in late winter to remove dead wood and shape the bush. Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage continuous flowering throughout the season.

• Aphids cluster on new growth and buds - spray with insecticidal soap or introduce beneficial insects like ladybirds. Check regularly during warmer months for early intervention.
• Black spot appears as dark spots on leaves in humid conditions - ensure good air circulation and water at soil level rather than on foliage. Remove affected leaves promptly.
• Thrips cause silvery streaks on petals and leaves - use blue sticky traps and neem oil spray. Most active during hot, dry weather periods.
• Root rot develops from overwatering or poor drainage - ensure well-draining soil and reduce watering frequency. Check soil moisture before watering.
