• The distinctive cylindrical leaves are covered in a powdery blue coating that helps protect the plant from intense sunlight and reduces water loss.
• Forms low spreading clumps 20-30cm high and up to 60cm wide, making it ideal for mass plantings or border edging.
• Gardeners love its year-round colour, drought tolerance, and ability to create striking textural contrasts in modern garden designs.
• Produces small white daisy-like flowers on tall stems during warmer months, adding an unexpected delicate touch to the bold foliage.

• Water only when soil is completely dry, typically every 2-3 weeks in summer and monthly or less in winter. Check soil moisture 5cm deep before watering.
• Position in full sun for best colour and compact growth, though plants tolerate light afternoon shade in hot inland areas. Morning sun is essential.
• Use free-draining succulent or cactus mix, or improve garden soil with coarse sand and gravel. Raised beds work excellently for heavy clay soils.
• Apply diluted liquid succulent fertiliser once in spring and once in early summer only. Avoid feeding in autumn and winter.
• Trim off spent flower stems and prune leggy growth in spring to maintain tidy appearance. Cuttings root easily for propagation.
• Requires minimal humidity and prefers dry air conditions. Avoid planting in humid, poorly ventilated positions.
